Proposed Amendments to Constitution

The UKMA formed a Sub-Committee earlier in the year to examine the current UKMA Constitution and make recommendations on changes to update and improve it, ensuring it properly reflects the needs of the current playing community.

That Sub-Committee has produced its recommendations – see below.

We are required by the current Constitution to hold a General Meeting to examine and ratify those alterations. We shall therefore hold an Extraordinary General Meeting on Sunday, 26th October at 16:00, following the Riverside Riichi tournament in Bristol, to agree or reject those changes. We will provide Zoom access for those who are not participating in the event.

All UKMA members are eligible to attend the EGM, but only Council members (Executive and the nominated representative of each Affiliated Club) are entitled to vote on the proposals. A two-thirds majority of those present and voting is needed to change the Constitution.

If you are a member of the UKMA (member of an affiliated Club or have played in a UKMA authorised tournament) and wish to attend the EGM, please send an email to contact@ukmahjong.co.uk
