We are proud to have organised the biggest Riichi tournament staged in Europe to date, with no less than 21 countries providing 128 entrants. The Mayor of Farnham provided a welcoming reception for distinguished visitors from overseas, and kindly agreed to open the tournament officially.
The leading places were taken by players from Russia, Netherlands, Poland and Denmark – Mikhail Ludovkin, Desiree Heemskirk, Mateusz Wozniak, and Henrik Leth respecitvely. The leading British players were Daina Chiba (8th) Yixuan Liu (14th) and John Duckworth with a creditable 18th place backing up his achievement in the World Championship in Paris in 2015 where he was the best performing European player
